Framework LinkedIn Outreach

LinkedIn InMail Template

High-performing LinkedIn InMail templates for B2B sales outreach. Proven structures and examples that generate responses from cold prospects.

LinkedIn InMail Templates

InMail gets 3x higher response rates than cold email when done right, but most reps waste their limited InMail credits on generic pitches. These templates maximize every send.

Template 1: The Insight Lead

Subject: Quick insight on {Their Initiative}

Body: Hi {FirstName},

I noticed {Company} recently {specific trigger — new hire, funding, expansion, product launch}. Companies at this stage typically run into {specific challenge relevant to your solution}.

We helped {Similar Company} navigate this by {brief outcome — one sentence max}. Thought it might be relevant to what your team is tackling.

Worth a 15-minute conversation?

Template 2: The Mutual Connection

Subject: {Mutual Connection} suggested I reach out

Body: Hi {FirstName},

{Mutual Connection} mentioned that your team is focused on {initiative or challenge}. We work with several companies in {Industry} on exactly this — most recently helping {Company} achieve {specific result}.

Would you be open to a quick call to see if there is a fit?

Template 3: The Congratulations Play

Subject: Congrats on {achievement}

Body: Hi {FirstName},

Saw the news about {specific achievement — promotion, award, company milestone}. That is impressive work.

I help {role type} leaders at {company stage} companies {specific outcome your product delivers}. Given where {Company} is headed, it might be worth comparing notes.

Happy to share what is working for teams like yours if you have 15 minutes.

Template 4: The Content Hook

Subject: Your take on {topic}

Body: Hi {FirstName},

Your recent {post/article/comment} on {topic} caught my attention — especially the point about {specific insight they shared}. We see the same pattern across our customers in {industry}.

We have been helping teams solve this with {brief approach — not a product pitch}. Would love to share what we are seeing if you are interested.

InMail Best Practices

  • Keep subject lines under 8 words — shorter subjects get more opens
  • Never exceed 150 words in the body — brevity wins on LinkedIn
  • Send Tuesday through Thursday between 8-10 AM in their timezone
  • Reference something specific — generic InMails have 3x lower response rates
  • Ask one question — multiple asks reduce response rates
  • Use their first name once — more feels artificial

What to Avoid

  • Do not paste your product feature list
  • Do not ask to “pick their brain” — be specific about the value exchange
  • Do not send InMail to someone you can reach via regular connection request
  • Do not follow up on InMail with another InMail — switch channels instead

Scrapine enriches LinkedIn profiles with verified contact data, giving you alternative channels to follow up when InMail goes unanswered.
